Queensland Backpacking Information - Tours & Hire

Queensland is a very large and very diverse state. This is a definite must do for your backpacking travels (as is the whole of Australia). From diving and sailing in the Whitsundays, learning to surf in Noosa, or just hiring a campervan to cruise from the Gold Coast to Cairns

Queensland is Australia’s second largest state, covering 1,722,000 km2 and the third most populous with more than 3,000,000 inhabitants - 17 per cent of the nation’s
people. The total coastline is 7,400 km. That's a lot of beach.

This state is known as Australia’s "sunshine state" although weather conditions vary greatly between the coastal plain and the inland. It gets real hot in summer (pack sun cream), and quite cool in winter (but don't bring your ski's :-).
