High Adventure Airpark has been using the Tandem hang gliding Instruction developed by Wallaby Ranch in Florida USA and is currently the only school in Australia using this technique for hang gliding instruction. This technique is proven to be by Far the safest and quickest way to get into the sport of Hang gliding!! By Using a Double- Decker harness and a Proven and Certified tandem glider, it allows the student free movement of the controls without the hindrance of the instructor (normally beside the student) and allows the instructor to take command of the glider when needed. By doing around 10 - 15 aero tows to 3000 feet gives the student pilot around 5 hours of in-flight instruction, finding that most students can fly the tandem glider AICUS (acting in command under supervision) from takeoff to landing completely by themselves in this time.
