Join in the day to day running of a real live working cattle station with the Sandilands family who's links with the land can be traced back to early settlement.

Magnificent views of the countryside will be experienced as you travel by 4WD through the cattle station.

After a hearty cooked breakfast, travel to Mt Scoria, the core of the volcano that rings!!   An unusual mountain ... and one of only three in the world or saddle up for a horse trail ride through the working cattle station and see the wildlife in their natural habitat.  

You will be amazed at the peace and grandeur of the landscape and enjoy the stillness and natural beauty of Kroombit National Park. Due to limited access, this relatively new National Park is still in it's natural state. 360 million years ago this area was under the ocean and at some stops you can see fosilised corals which lived in an environment similar to the Great Barrier Reef of today. 

Take in the splendour of the cliffs and be amazed at the beautiful rock pools to be found in the park. Take a hike and visit little falls - seldom seen by man, you will feel as though time has stood still for this beautiful natural landscape.

At Kroombit, you can choose from a day packed with activities or just rest and let your cares float away as you enjoy the relaxed casual lifestyle. The nature based park has National Ecotourism Accreditation. Breathe in the fresh country air and take in the wide open spaces. Lochenbar Station is also an associate member of YHA Australia.
