Little
Pine Lagoon
This fly -fishing only water is one of the jewels in Tasmania's
fishing crown. Early in the season Brown trout forage in the rising
Spring waters along the lakes' margins, in search of worms, frogs and
drowned terrestrials. From December until late February the Highland Dun
hatches and accompanying Black Spinner falls create some of the most
testing fishing in Tasmania. These conditions are part of the reason
this lake is so highly regarded by fly-fishermen the world over. Prices

Arthur's
Lake
Arthur's lake contains a huge variety of angling opportunities for the
fly and lure fishermen alike. It is a large lake with many and varied
geographical features and like Little Pine boasts a prodigious Dun
hatch that attracts fly-fishermen keen to pit their skills against the
cunning browns that inhabit this lake. Arthur's has so many beautiful
hidden bays and stretches of rarely fished waters that you could spend
a lifetime getting to know them all. If you prefer to troll with lures
or drift-spin quietly through the trees, this lake is the perfect
venue. We have had some truly magic days on this water and highly
recommend it when conditions are right. Prices

Dee Lagoon
This deep blue lagoon is skirted by steep eucalypt and fern covered
hills and is the home to some very large Rainbows that enjoy nothing
more than tracking up windlanes at 5 knots while chomping on the
iridescent yellow and green gum beetles that are blown onto the lake
during a hot, strong Northerly. It has very clear, deep water and the
sight of a big rainbow charging up from the depths to take your fly
tests the strongest of nerves. Prices

The Great Lake
The Great Lake is the largest of the lakes on the Central Plateau.
It offers an enormous variety of fishing styles from early morning
wind-lane fishing to midge feeding browns and rainbows, polaroiding
along the edges during the day, polaroiding in the waves from a boat
in the late afternoon (This is an incredible way to fish!!) and then
some wonderful evening rises to fish that slash at the caddis close to
shore or casually mop-up the days leftovers further out in the lake.
It is also a very popular lake for trolling and drift spinning and is
a great place to spend a day or two exploring. Prices

Lake

West of the state. Construction was commenced in the mid 1980's and

full fishing season. It is regarded as one of the best windlane
