Snowy Mountains, ACT, Surrounds, Wagga Wagga, Young, Goulburn, Jindabyne

The Australian Capital Territory is of course home to our Parliament House, The High Court of Australia and the National Gallery with its extensive collection of Aboriginal cultural artworks. A well manicured city, Canberra is situated amidst a rural area of sheep farms, cattle stations and rustic homesteads and close enough to Kosciuszko National Park to marvel at the evening sunset.

With two Universities there are no shortage of nightclubs in Canberra. You can always find a pub and there are plenty of cheap places to eat.

It is fortunately, only a short drive to coastal beaches when the hot summer climate can be unforgiving. Summer months see a total fire ban in this region and sensibly so with its close proximity to The Brindabella Ranges, Namagdi National Park and Kosciuszko National Park. Horseride through the alpine meadows of Kosciuszko National Park, alive with wildflowers at this time of year or climb to Australia’s highest point, Mt Kosciuszko. We recommend a whitewater raft on the Snowy River or a visit to the thermal pools at Yarrangobilly Caves.

The nearby slopes of ski resorts such as Kosciuszko-Thredbo, Perisher Blue and Mount Selwyn sit quietly until June. The ski season begins at this time with the parties and powder usually lasting until October.
