Rockhampton is known as the Beef Capital of Australia. So....what's that got to do with it?

For starters it’s the only place in Australia where you can watch the Bull Rides at the back of a pub right in the heart of town.  It’s a place where you can go Jet Boating on the Mighty Fitzroy.  It’s the only place in Australia where you can catch Barramundi two blocks from the City Centre.  It’s the only place in Australia where the Summer Solstice performs nature’s premier event.  It’s also a place where the REAL AUSSIES live, boots and all. 

When you travel from Noosa to Airlie Beach, break your journey and spend a few days discovering Capricorn.

Great Keppel Island is the affordable island. Just a half hour ferry trip and your'e in paradise. Dive, snorkel, wind surf, jet ski and lots more. Enjoy the island lifestyle.

Pumpkin Island is one of the few Islands not commercially developed. Stay in solar powered cabins, catching your own fresh fish from the nearby reefs for dinner and be a real castaway for a few days or weeks.  For more details on the islands see the tours index.

Capricorn boasts a great selection of ‘farm stays’ (you are actually gonna be useful).  At some you get to help with the hard yakka (with a touch of magic).  At others, you may just be allowed ‘the soft life’.  At all you will meet some hard working real Queenslanders and watch some of the most glorious sunsets you’ll ever see!
