Melbournes newest flashpackers “Nomads Industry” located at 196-8 A’Beckett St, right in front of the Victoria markets, will show a new dimension to backpackers in Melbourne.
Geelong is an historic mini city situated 75km
south-west of Melbourne alongside the sparkling waters of Corio
Bay (a smaller bay within Port Philip Bay). As with any of the
bayside locations, you can choose to enjoy a variety of water
activities such as canoeing, water skiing and rowing. Popular
attractions in Geelong include the Sunday Markets and you won’t
miss the colourful bollards. There are 100 of these handcrafted
wooden figures staring out to sea. After dark check out live theatre,
historic buildings, lamp-lit garden walkways or take your pick
of where to eat and where to shake that booty!
Only a very short drive east of Geelong is the Bellarine Peninsula.
You will find seaside vineyards, fresh seafood straight out of
the bay and from here you can travel by passenger ferry across
the bay to Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula. Horse ride along
the beach or go bush walking through the National Park.
At the top of the bay you will find the cosmopolitan suburb of St Kilda
where food and fashion fuse to create Melbourne's hippest seaside town.
The beaches of St Kilda and nearby Brighton are great for swimming but
we say save the surfing for further south.
If you have trouble deciding what to wear then you’ll be lost deciding
where to go in Melbourne. With so much on offer….do you head to the
beach for a stroll along the boardwalk or to sit on the grass and read
a book, should you visit the Museum or Art Gallery, chow down with Yum
Cha in China- town or get green and visit the National herbarium?
As with all cities there's lots to do that’s
free and Melbourne has plenty. With culture and style oozing on every
other day, a few dollars spent on café’ and you could spend a few hours
just watching the world wiz by.Cafes and restaurants galore, great shopping with many of Australia's
freshest designers based here, pubs and pool tables, dance clubs, the
Melbourne Casino, Aussie Rules (football), the Carlton Brewery and the
list, of course, goes on and on.
Make sure you spare a few days at the very least, to
cruise around this great city. Whether you slip into roller blades,
hire a bike or catch one of Melbourne's wonderful trams you’ll be glad
you did.
