Bells Beach - Torquay, Victoria

Most would agree that Bells Beach is the home of Australian surfing. It is the site for the world’s most prestigious surfing event, the Rip Curl. Swells from the Southern Ocean produce outstanding surf that can rise to five metres or more.

Kirra Beach - Coolangatta, Queensland

Just south of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast you will find Kirra Beach – world famous for its point break. Kirra Beach is a favourite of many great Australian surfing professionals.

Byron Bay - Northern New South Wales

There are numerous beaches along the Byron Bay coastline where you can catch a great wave. Byron Bay is known as a bit of a party town and definitely worth a visit for a few days if you are making your way up the east coast of Australia from Sydney to Cairns on the well trodden backpacker path.. Byron is also the place where you can get some surf lessons, a hour or two or a surf camp for a few days. Spend your days learning to surf on some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Australia, and party the night away at a number of bars and clubs It's a perfect way to introduce yourself to Australia's number one past time and immerse yourself in the surfing lifestyle. Yallingup - Margaret River, Western Australia

The small resort town of Yallingup is at the northern end of the Margaret River region – you can combine your love of surfing and visiting vineyards. With a lovely clean strip of sand and several breaks that range from mild to monstrous depending on the swell, Yallingup is considered the best surf destination on the West Australian coast. You can catch a wave at each of the breaks known locally as "The Three Bears".
