Rocky Cape National Park, Wynyard, Smithton, Marrawah, Arthur River
This region covers the top left hand corner of Tasmania,
with moderateley populated coastal towns, farmlands, wildflowers, the
birds and the bees. Wynyard is a major port for most tours and from
the wharf you can watch fishing boats out at sea and admire the coastline.
The airport is also based here with flights departing frequently for
Melbourne and King Island. From the lookout point at nearby Table Cape
you can see the crystal blue waters of Boat Harbour Beach several kilometres
away and the rocky outcrops of the last point at Rocky Cape. Savage River National Park and areas further
inland amidst the North West Forests are
isolated and with at least 40% of Tasmania covered with forests
and lakes, the abundance of wildlife, birdlife and other untouched natural
elements make Tasmania the island for discovery.
