Phillip Island is famous for its fairy penguin parades
and every evening at dusk these cute little fellows march up the beach
after a hard day at sea, seemingly oblivious to the floodlights and hundreds
of visitors. You can also visit Churchill Island which is joined to Phillip
Island by a narrow timber bridge. Look out for the Koalas. It is only
one and a half kilometres long and great to visit by foot or scenic cruise.
For something completely different take a solar powered escape with an
eco tour of French Island.
On the eastern side of Wilsons Promontory also known
as Yiruk to the local Aboriginal peoples, stands the solitary lighthouse.
Breathtaking ocean views can be enjoyed from the windswept mountain
peaks and tranquil waterways flow steadilyto the sea. Walking tracks wind throughout the varied landscape
of this national park and are known as, one of Victoria's most popular
natural attractions. You will find great surf here and in nearby Waratah
Bay, locals boast the best windsurfing beach in Australia – Sandy Point.
Traveling north over the green hills of Gippsland you
will find the village of Walhalla nestled in a quiet hillside. The most
scenic touring route is through the Strzelecki Ranges or alternatively
by the Walhalla and Mountain Rivers Trail.Watch this page for discounted tours.
