Just visited the Blue Mountains. A great place to walk. We did all the steps down to the bottom from Echo Point and walked along the bottom and back up. Much cheaper than using the cable car. Iy took us 15 minutes to go down and surprisingly the same back up.

Has anyone got other ideas on what to do in the mountains?

I two recently did a trip to the Blue Mountains, we also explored Jenolan Caves which was great.  The tour that we went on was absolutely fantastic, it was made even better by the fact that transport from Sydney CBD was included.

There are several different types of tours of the Blue Mountains and region, and they all vary in cost and inclusions.

Have a look here and here for the full details.

It's certainly spectacular country!  ;D

Wow.......this is great. I had also been there with my friends. My family was on the way too!... but due to some problems they dropped the plan. The tour was great and he had been to hunter valleys too. The wine there was just awesome and the whale tours were a real enjoyment  Smile

I am also planning to visit Blue Mountain this Summer. Can you please let me know about options available to stay there. For your information We have a tight budget schedule so can't actually afford luxury. Any tips will be appreciated.
