Hey everyone!

Would love your help with this. I've exhausted the south coast campgrounds so this time my girlfriend and I are planning on camping the north coast in November. i'd love to know what everyone thinks are the best campgrounds on the way up to byron and where to steer clear of.

Thanks in advance!

G'day fuifui and welcome aboard! ;D

Yamba, on the northern NSW coast, is really lovely.  It's a very pretty fishing town with great beaches, excellent surfing conditions and a good feed of fresh seafood.  Wink

Thanks for your help PR!

I love my fishing and seafood I'll be sure to check it out. What are the camping grounds like there? I'm not looking for anything special just something out of the wind and flat.
Thanks again!

Hi again fuifui.  Good to see you back! ;D

I'm a bit out of date with the camping grounds in Yamba but I know that there's a new YHA (Youth Hostels Association) backpackers resort opening there in November 2008 or you could try the accommodation search engine at Coffs Harbour eGuide which gives details of the BIG4 Yamba on Palmers Island in the Clarence River Estuary near Yamba.  You can also search for places to stay anywhere in Australia at Australia eGuide.

Cheers bud I'll be sure to check it out. We've decided to drive to Byron and back over 9 days so these will come in handy.
Thanks!

Great, fuifui.  Cool

Do, please, come back afterwards and let us all know how you got one and what wonderful (or diabolical!) discoveries you made which might help other backpackers?  Oh, some photos would be nice too! lol

Have fun, mate. ;D
