The concept of the GNCO was born from the ‘Creative Alliance- Leadership Catalysts’ instigated by the former Noosa Council. With a vision to create a community based Music Festival which would provide a stairway for emerging songwriters/musicians to craft their talents and to provide a unique experience in Noosa showcasing not only our abundant creative community but now also some of Australia’s leading iconic acts.

Four dedicated people, Frank Pardon (former Noosa Council Deputy Mayor) & partner Shane Stanley with Noosa Farmers Markets, Julez Brady (Print Media services -Bandprint) & Kate Gibson (Songwriter & Recording Artist) created ‘United Artists of the Sunshine Coast’. With the festival in its second year and triple the size, their vision comes to fruition again with a commitment to unite the creative community to include Music, Film, Visual Arts, food stalls & children’s activities in a perfect camping setting, in an environment we love to protect, to create opportunities for all. The GNCO supports: The ‘House With No Steps, Frangipani Dreams, Butterfly Kids, Life Education and Lions Club.

The event is sponsored by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council, with Mayor Bob Abbot performing once again, Sunshine Coast Media Centre (Channel Ten including Mix Fm & Sea Fm radio), Heliport Studios, The Noosa Journal and more to be announced. 2010 promises more grunt of what will most certainly become Noosa’s iconic music event.

The official launch of GNCO will be held on the 7th march at which time the Double CD ‘We Like You Better When You’re Straight’ will be available. The CD’s consist of the ‘Live’ Mix of GNCO 2009 & recorded tracks compilation of 2010 artists. Profits to Life Education. www.lifeeducation.org.au

Tix & merchandise available from the GNCO stand in the Saturday Eumundi Markets and the Sunday Noosa Farmers Market.
