Pinnacles Travel Information

Australia's largest state, Western Australia, boats the Pinnacles. The Pinnacles are magnificent limestone formations located within the Nambung National Park. Both the Pinnacles and the National Park are one of Western Australia's most popular tourist attractions, receiving over a quarter of a million visitors every year alone.

The nearest town to the Pinnacles is Cervantes. For the budget backpacker, or just the traveler on a budget for that matter, Cervantes is an ideal place to rest up for a few days before exploring the Pinnacles and Nambung National Park. Old style country pubs that offer cheap country style food and very affordable WA accommodation are a plenty, and tours to the Pinnacles and the National Park can be arranged at Cervantes.

Apart from the magnificent limestone formations, there is an abundance of wildlife to be seen as well. Most of the wildlife is nocturnal, however during the late afternoon and early evening you will see both of the two native Australian animals that appear on Australia's coat of arms, the Kangaroo and the Emu. Although the Pinnacles can be seen at any time of the year, August to October is the recommended time for those that want to see wildflowers in bloom. This is when the days are also milder and not too hot, perfect to see some of the finest WA tours.
